The Salvation Army Booth House located in Alton, Illinois, is looking for a full-time Shelter Manager. This is a salaried position that comes with great benefits such as medical, dental, and life insurance, 11 paid holidays a year, vacation time, sick time, personal time and is eligible for participation in the company funded pension plan after one year of service.

The Shelter Manager is responsible for the on-going operations of the shelter facility and programming, including client services and staff functions. The shelter Manager also provides oversight for kitchen operations. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:40 PM; evenings and weekends may be necessary to cover shifts to help maintain proper shelter coverage.

Starting pay is $35,568 a year depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for oversight of all shelter activities and ensures 24-7 shelter coverage, filling in as needed. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all shelter residents.

2. Supervise shelter staff; including monitors, cook(s) and volunteers. Team and individual meetings, weekly.

3. Provide case management for shelter residents including intake, assessment of resident needs and development of case plans to achieving successful client outcomes; work with staff and clients to monitor progress

4. Provide direct oversight for kitchen operations including food purchasing and ensuring that health standards are properly followed.

5. Complete and submit program monitoring reports to appropriate funding sources.

6. Maintain resident case records and shelter statistical program records in accordance with Salvation Army standards and the requirements of various funding sources. Regular input into database(s).

7. Conduct and coordinate, through external resources, regularly scheduled life skills and self-help group activities and facilitate weekly group sessions with clients.
